Cause I'm a Blonde.....

Yeah!  Yeah!  Yay!

I think I finally got the right mix!  I'm a color junkie.  I've been dying and bleaching my mop since I was in the 7th grade and it's hit or miss.

I've had it jet black (not good with my coloring at all).

I've worn wigs of many colors!

I've had it Flamingo Pink (not good....well, it was loads of fun).

I've been a red head, a natural brunette, natural blonde, platinum blonde.

But, I must admit I look best in a very buttery, beige light blonde.

The problem?  I always forget the mix, the timing, etc. and I never get the same results twice.

The solution?  I just did it.  I like it!  and I'm going to blog about it so that I never forget how to get the same results twice so here we go.....

  1. Start with unwashed hair.  We're not talking filthy, smelly, street urchin stuff.  But, make sure that it's been at least a day since you last washed it and try not to use any products in the days prior to treatment.
  2. Start with a powdered bleach.  Mix the bleach as per package with a 40 volume peroxide.
  3. Apply bleach to roots only using a comb to separate the hair into 1/2 inch rows.
  4. Leave bleach on hair for 30 minutes or until desired lightness (there may still be some orange tone, but you fix that later)
  5. Wash hair twice to make sure that all the bleach has been rinsed out.
  6. Allow hair to dry naturally (if possible)
  7. Mix blond dye with 40 volume peroxide (30 volume if you don't need more lift).
  8. Apply dye to roots only.  Use the same technique that was used with the bleach.
  9. Leave dye on for 20 minutes. You should have extra dye left over.
  10. After 20 minutes distribute any leftover dye through the rest of your hair and leave on for an additional 5 minutes.
  11. Total dye time should not exceed 30 minutes.

Is This Ugly?

I found this with the writers comment stating how ugly it is.  I actually think it's really cute.  Sure the shorts look like they're from the "Autopia" ride at Disneyland, but the blouse is fabulous.

I guess I saved it all this time to remind myself that beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Everything....art, fashion and beauty are all a matter of personal taste and are all very subjective.
